Chitral

Chitral city was founded more than 425 years before. This city is famous for the Shandur Polo ground, where a large number of foreigners as well as local tourists gather every year. Lowari pass is the main source of connecting the city with other cities of Pakistan. Tirich Mir is the highest mountain of the range which exists in Chitral region. Chitral city is gifted with Kalash valley, which is unique in its cultural values; traditions/customs prevail in the people of this valley.

Chitral is the beautiful city of Pakistan. This city is full of its natural wonders and known in the world. Chitral city is located in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwan, Pakistan. Polo is the most famous sports event of the city. It is also famous among the foreigners, because this event is organized on the world highest playground of Shandur Pass. The matches are played between the teams of Gilgit and Chitral cities. Tirich Mir is another attraction of the city, which is the highest mountain of the Hindu Kush range and can be seen easily from the city. The historical and cultural Kalash Valley is also the beauty of this area. The people of Kalash Valley are more generous and welcoming. This ancient community has their own traditions like arranging the parties on the death of a relative, the black colored clothes with multi shaded embroidery is included in their traditional significances. The hot water of “Garam Chashma” is known for healing the skin diseases. The fairy valleys of Drosh and Shishi keep the emotion full of amaze. Ayun Valley, Booni, Charun Oweer, Prayet are also the attractive locations of the Chitral city.

Due to the high altitude, access to this city consists upon a long journey. By road Lowari Pass connects the Chitral with Peshawar. This road passes from many mountains and provides spectacular views of the natural wonders. The development of Chitral Airport is another addition to the tourist’s importance of this area. Yet the airport has not taken the importance as the International Airport but the tourists from the other country can reach there by getting Cheap Flights to Peshawar.   One can easily find the traditional items in the fascinating bazaars of Chitral.
